Student teachers at Faith International Academy learn firsthand about the world and cross-cultural living. We provide an environment to gain teaching experience, increase your understanding of missions, and learn to thrive in a multiethnic community.
The ideal FIA student teacher has completed or is nearing completion of a teacher education program and has some practicum or student teaching experience in his or her home country. They are sponsored by a mission and possibly an overseas student teaching program, such as Christian College Teacher Education Coordinating Council (CCTECC), and has participated in some form of cross-cultural experience or training before arriving at FIA.
Qualified applicants must exhibit personal characteristics that are necessary for working and living cross-culturally, as well as show evidence of a vital spiritual life and an interest in missions and children of missionaries.
Applicants should be able to commit to at least six to eight weeks in a training placement and notify us of their interest at least six months before the assignment is to begin.
